NURSERY / SMALL CAGED ANIMAL AUCTION & SWAP ~ WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 @ 9 am
  • CAGED & NURSERY LOTS ~ check in for these lots is Tues Sept 22 from 8 am til 10 pm only. Everything must be checked in on Tues for the Wed nursery sale. On Wednesday morning, we will sell a few cages and lab equipment, then go right into the NURSERY AUCTION. There will be no sales of Nursery lots prior to the Auction.
  • SWAP LOTS MUST BE checked in and priced on or before Wednesday and will be for IMMEDIATE sale as soon as they are unloaded. All unsold Swap lots will sell at auction on Thursday evening.

"CAGED" SALE VS. The "SWAP" -- What's the Difference??????

  • CAGED ANIMAL/ EXOTIC BIRD SALE (NURSERY): These lots (usually) consist of: Reptiles, small caged animals , as well as all small exotic tame cats (Bengals, Servals, Caracals, etc.) and Pet Shop variety birds. Also selling Cranes, Swans. Kangaroo, Wallaby, Muntjac and Ratite (to name a few).
  • THE SWAP: May likely include more common fowl and animals including: fancy chickens, rabbits, ducks, turkey, geese, pheasant, peacock, chucker, guinea, water fowl and other species not typically sold in pet shops. (These lots are seldom listed on this page as we do not receive advance information from consignors. )

SEPTEMBER CONSIGNMENTS ~ 9/17/09

Pictured above, left to right: (1). A young pair of Redbreasted Geese (parents pictured here do NOT sell); (2). Two young hand fed 2009 Giant Wood Rail babies - highly intelligent - eat rodents and snakes, enjoy chasing starlings from food dishes. They are popular in children's zoo's and will come right to the front of the aviary. A secure aviary is best as they can fit through small openings. They have a loud call and do best where noise is not a problem. (an adult male is pictured for reference and does NOT sell); (3). Black-neck Swans; (4).A pair of this year's hatch Trumpeter Swans; (5). An unspecified number of this years hatch of Giant Canada Geese - (especially nice light markings). and (6). Selling a few of this years hatch of Bar Head Geese.

 

Pictured above left to right. LEFT: Bottle raised - "tame" - proven male Serval 6 years old. Owner says: "he can be hissy and aggressive at times - other times he is a sweet cat". AT CENTER: One male Canada lynx - Skipper is 8 years old, and a proven breeder for previous owner. Mellow, non agressive, manageable. One white toe; RIGHT: One female Canada Lynx - Thelma - born 5-2006 - unproven. Lives with male lynx Skipper and her sister. No estrus or breeding observed this past Spring. Both cats are completely unaltered. No healt hissues, nice, attractive cats, compatible, but did not produce this past spring. At RIGHT:

Pictured above, left to right: "Sparky" a 9 yr old usrgically sexed male Moluccan cockatoo. Lots of handling and a joy to be around; "Tiki", an unsexed Timneh African Grey Parrot. Nice bird, very quiet, always curious - Tame but not hand raised. Various whistles - likes to be around people; A 6 yr old Rhesus Macaque Male; and a Very tame pair of 3 and 4 yr old Kinkajous. Female should be about 2 months pregnant by sale date.

All welded aluminum Weight about 60 pounds. Dimensions: 44" wide 54" front to back (at base) 26" tall Front sloped to fit inside a Chevrolet Suburban. Cage has upper and lower levels, with an upper level entry hole on the left half to permit entry to upper deck. Upper level has removable partition to keep animals separated if necessary. Built in, non-removable pan, Double carrying handles on front and rear, Independent front-loading doors. Removable top.

  • a female serval, she was used in a zoo, cage tame, never been with a male.
  • A male serval and a female savannah cat. They will sell as a pair and will not be separated.
  • Lesser Magellan Geese; One or two pair of Smew ( smallest merganser - special imported line); Barrow's Golden Eye; and Hooded Merganser;

  • 2 adult pair of Mute Swans: 3 yr old pair & 4 yr old pair - guaranteed breeders
  • Sugar Gliders: Leucistic female Sugar Glider she is 6 months old; A proven breeding pair...Leucistic male 16 months old and 100% leucistic het female 25 months old with a 3 week old female 100% leucistic het joey; A proven breeding trio of white face gliders 2 females 13 months and 3 years and one male 3 years .one female has a joey in pouch.neither of the females are related, nor is the male; A Proven breeding pair of grey gliders with 2 joeys in pouch; and another proven breeding pair leucistic female and 100% white face leucistic het male with possiable joeys in pouch

Pictured above: About 20 Chickens from the McMurray hatchery as the Rainbow layers. Consignor will also bring older laying hens and this Springs hatch of Aracauna as well as a few of this years hatch of pond ducks (pond ducks have no Muscovy breeding).

  • Black shoulder pied peachicks; 2 Purple pied peachicks; 2 pair Black Melanistic pheasants; 2 pair Buff Isabella pheasants; 1 pair Red golden pheasants; 1 pair Chocolate(cinnamon) pheasants; 1 pair Green pheasants; 1 pair Green cross pheasant; 1 pair Chocolate Muscovy ducks; 1 pair Bar tail Muscovy ducks; and a 2 year old Lady Amherst male. All birds are from a NPIP hatchery and the whole flock of breeders are tested yearly. All birds that can be sexed will be tested.
